I think excessive use of microwave appliances does cause a significant amount of radiation effects. Although we can tolerate most of the dose of radiations coming out of it.

 However there is a concern over the long term effects of microwave objects on health especially the carcinogenic ones. Do you think microwave products are much dangerous than expected.

as the saying goes, too much of a thing is not good anymore!...hence i should say, microwave ovens are generally safe to use so long as its in accord with how it should be properly used! and its use is moderated!

I think microwaves are safe enough, if properly used. We only use ours for reheating, and not very often. I hear some people actually cook in the microwaves, I wouldn't do that.

I sure hope it's safe! We tend to use ours alot through the week. My hubby works nights so most nights I just heat something up in the microwave for me and the kids. On weekends it is rarely used because that is when I actually "cook" the most.

I don't know how safe they are. I've been avoiding using ours a lot since I was in a coffee shop that had a sign displayed about them.

The sign said that the shop didn't use microwaves because of the adverse health effects. I forget the details but it made me reconsider some of my use of our microwave.

I think if they were really dangerous we would hear about it.  I use mine to heat things up most of the time.  I do cook some things like rice in the microwave.

I usually use microwave for reheating purpose.  Some time I used for boiling vegitables. So I think limited use is safe.

I believe its safe to use microwave. But I heard its best to use microwavable plates rather than disposable plastics.

Microwave is not safe all the times. I have my own experience one day.

I kept some ladies-finger in a bowl and placed it in a micro wave to boil. I set the time for 15 min and i went to take bath. I came and see after half-an-hour what happened is the auto off is not properly worked and everything went off inside the oven. The kitchen is fully surrounded by fumes. After then , i wont placed anything inside the oven and went for other works.

It isn't safe in the wrong hands. Imagine overcooking something but I guess its safe when you just punch in the correct time to cook your food. I think its safe to say its a great appliance but a power hog.

Always safe with proper usage. You have to follow proper instructions given by the microwave book. Other wise while buying itself you have to clarify with the shop. Better know it usage is well and good.
