Dryer Troubles
« on: April, 25, 2009, 09:09:51 AM »
I have an older dryer that I bought used about 3 years ago. It has been a good investment considering I only paid $100 for it. However, now it seems my heating element has went out. It also tends to make a loud thumping noise now when I turn it on. I have no idea how much it would cost to get a new heating element or fix the noise it is making. Would I be better off in the long run to just go back to the same used appliance store and buy another dryer?

I would advise that. Blowers or dryers dont have that much of a life span. Even the good old brands cannot claim to have longer effective life span than 3-4 years. You better replace it with a brand new one.

Better go for new dryer. Once the dryer lost the heating element, if you change it further it could create some other problems. Also that heating element i don't think so work properly.

If problem comes once in a dryer it will not work properly because it losses the heating element. If you load heavy volume it may also does not work properly. If problem continue check the dryer motor with the experts.
