Antk- I can't believe you have to change them already. 10 years sure isn't 1 year. For the increase in cost of them over regular lightbulbs, I would think they would last a lot longer.
I'm leary of switching now. Anyone use flourescent?

I have a couple of rooms that I use those oddly shaped energy saving light bulbs in. I am completely amazed at how much longer they last than regular light bulbs. Sure, they are more expensive but I definitely think it pays off.

I know TV with standby mode will consume current, but i don't know the exact percentage.Thank you kelsey1999 for giving the exact percentage.
My husband always forget to switch off TV and computer plugs. It is my work daily.

Turn off your home appliances when it not in use. Make home plug appliances into the power trip. Using solar energy like cooker and heater as much as possible. To save your electricity bill.

It is pretty true to me. with the same story old appliances can consume more electricity. Some have less efficiency ratings and already have defects on it. Defective gasket of fridge can rise your bill up. Living appliances on standby mode can contribute to your monthly bill.
