Time Management for cleaning & work
« on: April, 25, 2009, 09:19:59 AM »
I have a horrible time balancing everything! I have 5 jobs I work from home, a hubby who works nights, two kids and a dog. It takes me working all of my jobs in order for us to keep our heads above water. However, because of this I always end up feeling like I'm slacking when it comes to keeping the housework done like it should be. Does anyone have any ideas on how to balance it all?

Having 5 jobs I can't see how you have time to do anything!!   Depending on the ages of your children, you need to give them some responsibilities.
Make a schedule for cleaning that fits into your work schedule.   I work from home, so during the day, I get the laundry done.   I always make sure that if a dish is dirty it goes into the dishwasher rather then just in the sink~ my kids do this too after lots of training.   Set one day aside to get the major cleaning done.  I do this on Saturday mornings.  I get up and take about 1 1/2 hours and clean.  Then when it is done, I have the whole day to do whatever.

wow! thats quiet a feat you have there huh! hats off to you! if i were in your shoes, i would also do the multi-tasking required for one to at least tackle what needs the most attention. But definitely in a week, i would do the general clean-up so that during the rest of the week, that'll just be maintainance for all of us. Make sure tho you get the sympathy of your folks by being helpful in their own ways too. Good luck!

All the family members can contribute that part in any of the house hold works daily. So hardly it will take one or two hours. We can alocate more time for other official works.

Try to allocate separate time for all the 5 jobs. In that time u do that particular job only and try to complete it in the allocated time. Don't postpone any job. If you practice it strictly, definitely you can manage the time. One important thing is don't commit for 6th job.

My aunt is very fast and efficient in doing her works. I learned it from her.
Now-a-days i too have practiced to do my work very fast and allot time for doing other works.  Everything comes in practice. Better practice it.
