New Remote Control?
«

our audio/video system at home seemed to have lost contact with its remote control...or is it the other way around? anyway, since the unit seems to be a no-use without the other, may i just use another remote control for my system? or is a replacement available? im very good at taking care of my things, so the unit's not covered anymore by its warranty...

It's not just an old battery, or a worn switch on the remote, is it?
In the past, I've used one remote control for another device, but there was a routine I had to do to "teach" the new remote which frequencies it had to use. I pointed the old remote at the new one and pressed the buttons, and it worked pretty well.
I'm not sure if those kind are still out there or not.

I haven't had to replace a remote yet, so I wouldn't know how to do it. Perhaps asking the salesman at a store would help, you could take the remote with and show them, telling them exactly what model it is for.

You should be able to get in touch with the manufacturer and arrange for them to send you a remote, or you can buy a universal remote control and tune your system into it following the instructions and guidelines.

You can purchase a Universal remote at various price ranges from BestBuy, Lowes, Walmart. I have found when this happens to me I just replace the remote from a local media store instead of contacting the manufacturer, which is always higher.

hey thanks! i guess the best way for me at this time is a universal remote control. considering that almost all the aplliances at home use a remote control, i might buy one which i could use on all the others. thanks again.

I can seem to find this universal remote control yet. For the time being, I decided to bring these to some service centers here. Maybe they could fix the things for me. But im still on the lookout of the universal ones. Thanks

I have been wondering about how good / practical a universal remote control is. I have not used one, and it seems to me that getting used to one new control instead of several old ones can be difficult. Probably even more so since you say the buttons do not correspond. Has anyone used a universal and liked it?

Why can't you get another new remote for the same brand in the market instead of using universal remote and all other stuffs. Its available in the market.
