Hi Bammer

After years and years of enduring the relentless noise of wall fans, we finally had a ceiling fan fitted last year.

It is much quieter and the cool air does feel as it is thrown out equally accross the bedroom. One thing though, I do think that you need to install it properly to prevent any noise and wobbles!

I think a ceiling fan would be a good choice. It looks better than a wall fan and also bubble is right about the equal distribution of air when ceiling fan is used.

I wish I had a ceiling fan. We have none installed except the dining room, of all places. Are they really expensive to get installed? Would you recommend a novice installing it themselves?

When you say "wall fan" do you mean a permanent fixture? I'm not sure I've seen those.

We have a ceiling fan, which is great but I'd expect it would be quite a job to install one unless there was already a fixture there.

We also have two pillar shaped fans that oscillate. You can move them around or just point them in one direction.

wall fans i mean are those i usually see in some rooms. theyre not permanent fixtures but may even be just installed on our own. theyre just sort of being placed there on the walls placed on to some hooks. But from the opinions I have read here, I guess id go for the ceiling fans. thanks.

I have always had ceiling fans and love them.  When we built our house, we put one in each of the four bedrooms and in the living room.  It works just as good as a regular fan but doesn't take up the space.

Ceiling fan is good. We don't have wall fans except in office.

In Bedroom you will get comfortable air with ceiling fan.

Ceiling fan is more comfortable then the wall fans. Wall fans occupy more space then the ceiling fan. Once you attached ceiling fan no problem comes but in wall fans you have to change the place often if you buy new appliances.

For domestic use ceiling fan is the best to get surrounding air. Wall fan is good for small rooms and small offices to circulate air for single person.

I prefer wall fans occupy more space.
