Deadly electrical fires threaten home owners...
« on: March, 19, 2009, 06:18:43 PM »
Now there is a solution to old and worn wall outlets going on fire. If the outlets in your home are over 10 years old, many receptacle manufacturers are recommending replacement. They are now putting this on their packaging because over time the connections become loose creating a high resistance which produces enough heat to ignite the plastic and insulation resulting in fire inside the wall.  The problem can be seen at the link below along with the solution which is a new outlet incorperating a temperature sensor that shuts down the outlet if high temperature occurs.

Thanks for that information. I had no idea that those components had such a short "safe" life expectancy.

Every 10 years we have to go for rewiring means the cost seems to be more and also it will damage the walls. Any other useful method that helps to rewiring without cost?
