We planted flowers after work and then we shut off all the lights at our house at 9pm last night. A lot of the TV stations were advertising this. If everyone in the world shut them off at the same time- we would save a lot of electricity and energy.

What did you do?

at exactly 8pm we already stuff off our lights and we slept after that and I could say to myself that I help also saving electricity and energy too.

Yep we always shut off all lights and other things that we aren't using at night. Of course not the fridge or other things like that.
I'm guessing we all save electricity that way!

Well my bad!  I didn't even think about it being Earth Day!!   We do shut off everything every night before going to bed, but did nothing special because of Earth DAy.

well, for our share we planted and replanted in our own frontyard! a dear friend planted a tree as well in some far away rainforest. the plant was named after me, or that was how i was told.....

Wow, ANTK- I can't believe your kids didn't mention it. Especially your daughter. That is why we did something. It was a big to-do in school.  I had to turn off Lost!   
I've since planted many flowers and a couple of new trees in the back yard.

By the way, I also joined the others by turning off the lights for about an hour. Only the lights though cuase there are kids and they cant tolerate the heat here..

My son wouldn't allow me to run the water either. He is so funny. When I run the water--if I let it run to long and am not using it--he shuts it off on me and tells me I am wasting water..lol

yeah we do that also shutting the light during that special day..i think its a global activity..

Ha ha! That was cute. As for us, we only switched the lights off and that's it. Jeez... I hope someday I have some kids like yours. Hi hi.

We slept a little earlier so that we can turn-off our lights, television, laptops and other electronics.

How cute Sweet that he is worried about water. It's true though, we all let it run too long when we aren't using it.  I have gotten in the habit of turning it off when brushing my teeth.  I used to let it run.  Silly me.

Glad to hear people did something to help out with saving the Earth.

I too participated in the program. I insisted my friends and relatives to turn of power for an hour. I'm proud that I did something for Earth day.

Yea1 i did the same thing on the earth day. I took resolution on that day that i don't waste electricity and other energy consuming items unnecessarily.
