more energy saving tips!
« on: March, 23, 2009, 08:22:03 AM »
i had learned a good lesson on turning off the ref while one is into ironing the clothes. this way, the usage is minimized but the temperature inside the ref is somewhat maintained. just make sure to iron in bulk and to request others in the house to minimize visits to the ref while you are still onto the ironing chore! cooperation by all would greatly redound to evryone's benefit...

My energy saving tips are the following:
1.turn off lights when not in use
2.unplug the electric appliances after turning them off
3. try to collect soiled linens/dirty clothes first and wash every 2 days to save water and electricity
4. use electric fan instead of air conditioner during summer
5. use water sprinkle instead of garden hose when watering the plants

I like these tips, I do most of that. I have always been economical with energy, and not just because of trying to save money - I hate waste in any form. Leaving the light on for several hours in a room with no people is, to me, a huge waste.

Saving on anything and everything is maximizing use and minimizing costs indeed! You would never be at fault at that!

Not only iron, Micro oven also needs to be effectively used. Instead of heating the food items for each person individually we can have everybody in the dining table all at once, it will minimize the power consumption.

Its a good idea to turn off the fridge while ironing. Might as well try that too.

Recently my husband bought a steam iron. It consumes lower wattage thus making you save a few bucks. Plus, it comes handy and very easy to use. I actually finished ironing a basket of clothes faster than I used to.:)

Try to unplug Iron box every time when we finished ironing.

One day when i finished ironing i forget to unplug it and no one noticed that. My husband only noticed next day. One full day i wasted the current.

We switch off our refrigerator when we sleep then switch on in the morning. In that way we can save energy. It really helps because our electric bill decreases.

Energy conservation and energy efficiency are same things. Energy conservation means reducing level of energy by turn down thermostat, turning off a light and other home appliances. Energy efficiency means same job while using less energy.
