Is there any current flow even when we switched off the plug. I don't think so unplugging will consume current. Most of the appliances i don't have the habit of unplugging.

Yes unplugging can save this amount of money and even more than this. One of my relatives daughter followed this unplugging technique in her school and saved a huge amount of money of school. The school appreciated her act and awarded her with the Green Ambassador award and a cash price.

Many appliance continue to draw a small amount of power when they are switched off. To avoid this, unplugging the appliance and using the switch on the power strip to cut all power to the appliance.

It is true that appliances must be unplugged to save even a single unit of energy per day. This can only be achieved if we take good care of such small tit bit. So everyone should remain careful.

Unplugging everything really helps. Appliances consumes standby power while its plug in. Thus it consumes electricity. Sometimes always plugging in appliances can cause fire... I have this experience in our company staff house did caught on fire after the television over heated. Unplugging not only saves electricity but also saves us from fire accidents.
