Its very simple and easy to use, yes. But it requires a lot of energy.

I use the microwave mostly to reheat food.  I don't really do much of my cooking right in the microwave.  It does save alot of time.

Using microwave during summer is great, since you don't have toheat up the whole house to cook. Cooler working place in the kitchen while cooking and a savings on the air! And not to mention, you don't have the mess that you can have by using the stove. If you make a mess, just wipe it out with a damp cloth and you are ready again
