In bathrooms?
« on: April, 21, 2009, 11:31:44 AM »
What kind of floors do you have in your bathrooms? Right now in the downstairs bathroom there is old style tile and the upstairs is carpet.

I have to admit I hate carpet in the bathroom. I always put a small rug down before bathing- the floor still gets wet and it's ugly.

I'm thinking of ripping it up and putting something new down-

Just curious as to what others have?

A few years ago we had our bathrooms rebuilt, and we chose ceramic tiles for both. I like the look of them, and I think they're pretty easy to maintain.

Speaking of floors in bathrooms, I've seen one down the hall where the owner had cork flooring put in her bathroom. I thought that was unusual, but it did look good.

We have ceramic tile as well. It is easy to maintain, and you can splash all the water you want on it. :)

We just put a burgundy and white block style linoleum down in our bathroom. Personally I prefer tile, but my husband was trying to save a few pennies. It looks nice now, but I'm sure it won't last as long as tile would have.

We have a ceramic tile too so that it's easy to clean. I just place a mat or small rug  near the door.  I think placing a carpet in the bathroom is hard work. Since you have to constantly dry it or else your bathroom will smell.

Right now we have linoleum but I'd love ceramic tile in there.  It's gotta be something hard though as I won't have carpet in a bathroom at all.  In fact, I don't like carpet anywhere as it gathers so much underneath it no matter how well you vacuum or what kind you have.

You can go for stone flooring like marble, granite, limestone. You will not get moisture problem. If you think of budget, then go for ceramic tiles, Its the best choice.

Ceramic tiles are best for bathrooms. Look is good and also easy to clean with cloth itself. If so dirty we can use detergents also to clean it. It has anti-slip factor and is hygienic too...
