More on foundations...
« on: May, 07, 2009, 10:12:36 PM »
our lot here at home still has some space left vacant for the time being. for possible future improvements, we are contemplating on making a septic tank on the vacant portion. And upon which another building would be erected. Would the presence of  a septic tank underneath possibly affect the strength of the foundation?...thanks

I think it won't affect the strength of the foundation. In our home we have constructed like that only. But we cannot construct more upstairs. If you have a plan to construct more upstairs better consult an expert.

Go head!it is a wise decision to save the vacant space. But get opinion from the professional to do it efficiently.
