i think home builders are both contractors and carpenters. it depends upon the individuals.

Well, my husband has built our house, and he thought about building more as a contractor. He does everything, from foundation to framework to inside work.

Home builders are carpenters. Take contractors as a group of builders. Like a firn or that sort.

Its not that all home builders will do both the contract job and carpenter Some are there, but some will have different people who specialize in different field, they will work as a team to get the job done.

I think home builders are contractors, but some of them are doing carpentry work also. So somebody is saying home builders are both contractors and carpenters.
