something to be wary of!
« on: March, 30, 2009, 11:41:22 PM »
i have had rather negative experiences about homebuilders or this particular homebuilder (in fairness to others!). with all nice and great words and a good ton of trust on his words and image as we thought he had, a relative of mine had been convinced into giving him the ALL! as to matters in bulding their house, including the finances! and sad to say, this homebuilder has abandoned the project without even notifying anyone that the finances had ran out of hand..or out of his hands without actually being used on the building itself..

so be wary guyz! be vigilant! dont be too trusting..

They should have had the bank supply the money in different installments.
When we built both of our homes, we ended up keeping the last installment of funds because they contractors didn't finish the work to our expectations.

Sorry to hear your family had this situation to deal with.

Sorry to hear about what happened... I would never let the builder handle the finances. You got a job done - show me - I'll pay. Move on to the next.

Sorry to hear about your situation, you may be able to process a small claims court case on the builder. You should look into that. He/she has to be responsible for what they did. I would also file a police report or some sort just to have this on paper.

I too had many experience like this, from then I don't agree to pay the full amount before they finish the work. At the start of work, pay them partly and pay the  remaining when they finish the work completely.

Always put a hold in money for these kind of works.

This may be happening in so many places. Why they are doing is finally if you go and convince them to finish the work they will ask to pay high.............So i have not trust them fully .
