The vinegar worked well- and there was no smell of vinegar on the next load of clothes either.  I threw in my sig others work clothes-- just to be safe.

Thanks for the tips!

Every once in a while, the washing machine gets a smell to it- It's usually when I do a load of laundry and forget it in there for a couple of days (silly me , I know) it smells mildewy.
Do you every just run the machine with bleach or detergent in it with no clothes? Kind of to clean it out?
I just started to do this.
nope i don't.. i just put some powder detergent on it and push the button of clean tub in my washing machine and its done..!!

Keep the wasnine door open till you use the machine for the next laundry.

I always keep my machine door open when my machine is not in use.

I don't have washing machine in my home. But my friend will do that " fill the machine with water and add two table spoon lemon juice, spin it and exhaust the water". It removes odd smell.
