Where is your laundry room located? Many people have it in the basement, but we did not want to have to carry clothes down and up the stairs all the time, so when we built our house we made a separate laundry room on the main floor, next to the master bedroom.

well mine is adjacent to the kitchen..but in separate rooms..

Mine is on the first floor of our house.  When you walk in from our garage, there is a big mud room.  Off of the mudroom, I have the laundry room and a full bathroom.  The reasoning behind this was that my kids are involved in sports and when football comes around, they come in the house covered in mud. The take off their clothes and throw them in the laundry room and then get right in the shower. Any mud that dropps off is in the mudroom, so less for me to clean up.

Thats a good idea to have the laundry next to master bedroom. I'm planning to do the same for my new house.

My Laundry room is near to my bathroom. I think it is the best.............everybody will put the clothes inside the laundry bag, otherwise they float it somewhere else in the bedroom or bathroom.

Always in a separate room, water is really dangerous when it comes in contact with the sockets so I don't recommend it with an open room beside the kitchen.

I have a small room near by my bathroom. In that room i kept my laundry bag. In my house for every bathroom we have attached a separate room to keep laundry bags. It is very useful.....

Well i feel laundry room  should be close to the bathroom. We have our laundry room next to our bathroom.

In my bathroom itself. While constructing the house i have planned and set up separate provisions for my washing machine,place to keep laundry bag etc. So every laundry activities are in my bathroom itself.

Ha, I thought we were the only ones who had thought of such a smart arrangement! :D We have almost exactly the same layout: when you walk in through the back door, from the garage, you enter the mud room with a shower in it. That's for dirty men to wash up before they enter the house! :D And then the laundry room is right next to it, so they can throw dirty clothes right into the washer.

Ours is right as you walk in the back door. It leads then to the kitchen. Our problem isn't the room itself, it is the fact that the laundry is never done. It seems like there is always more and more to do.
