Gosh I love those 2 alot and are Very Impressive when in Bloom !
What zone are you in Bangor. We are in Zone 7 or 8 and they Grow wonderfully well and they seem to be Drought Tolerable here.

I have a flowering plum tree in my garden and love it. It is placed in the corner of my flower garden. Everyone raves about it!

I've been thinking about adding a cherry or plum tree to our garden. So far, we have two apple trees, they are yet to small to bear fruit. I love blossoming cherry trees, too.

We had a flowering cheery tree, it is gorgeous. It's out front. The only problem is with the first big wind after the tree gets the pretty pink flowers on it- they are all over everything. The cars, the house, etc. It's not real pretty after the wind storm.

Wow! I think I would love a flowering plum tree in my flower garden. To be honest, I never really thought about it, but I do love plums and the flowers would just be a nice bonus. What zones are the best for planting these?

Just be careful when planting flowering fruit trees, they are a real mess to clean up when the flowers fall off... I usually try to stay away from fruit bearing trees because the fruit falls off and then rots in your yard... and you'll never get rid of cherry seeds in your yard. They do draw in a lot of animals like deer though. I guess it just depend on if you are willing to put up with the mess for the beauty. I do love to look at the flowering fruit trees, just not in my own yard.

I'd have to agree with you there JA. Flowering fruiting trees won't work for me as even though they're beautiful when in bloom and provide a food source, they can get really messy and need constant care. I'd go with a different sort of flowering tree as maybe a magnolia or a redbud or something that just flowers without fruiting!

It could be a great idea. I thought of planting in my garden, but i feel it is too hard to maintain it properly. Does it exra care than planting flowers?

It will grown in almost all places. It need only little attention like Proper watering and disease protection. If you took good care you will get more plums in a single tree.
