Textured Painting
«

I've never done it myself, but I've seen some beautifully texture painted walls using rag rollers and things like that.
I think I'd want to make sure I had the technique down before I tried it on the walls.
Has anybody here done that kind of painting?

My profession is painting houses so I have done this but alot of people are not doing it anymore. It is becoming dated. But using rags or plastic bags etc is alot of fun. beats just rolling the walls.

We did a bit of sponging when we were fixing up the kitchen.
If you aren't sure if you can pull off a special technique, try id on a hunk of primed plywood, first.
That will give you a chance to practice, and to change your mind, before you tackle a whole wall.

Repainted a beach house years ago with rags and newspaper dipped in the paint...looked awesome! It was yellow and white!

I think the local stores in my area may be reviving the technique.
One of the things I'm not sure about is keeping the pattern consistent in corners. I guess that's something that could be practiced on a scrap surface as well.

Textured painting is fine and will give your wall a different look, but it also collects a lot of dust and may require frequent cleaning

We did sponge painting in our bedrooms. It turned out great. It took a long time though.
You can also add texture by putting up wallpaper first (with grooves in it) and then paint over it.

The Texture painting is like an art. I have seen somewhere in my relatives house. It looks so nice. It is nothing but some visual effect shown in painting.

Texture painting gives a painting with character. It is important to a work as an art with choice of color, style and theme. Texture painting has the capacity to determine the mood and visual effect of the painting.

I did rag tolling back in the 80's I think it was, it was very popular then, it is very time consuming and you sure need alot of patience to do this, I don't think I would have the patience now, although you have given me an idea, I was looking to do something on one of the walls in my sons bedroom, I may just do some rag rolling as a sky.
