Well I am a plumber and I would have to say Copper is by Far the best.
PVC does get hard and can crack over time, and it is much harder to repair then copper
The home I redid for my self is all cast iron and coper

I also agree that copper is much better than PVC.  Copper does not break down and PVC does become brittle over time.

Sorry guys  but I'm going to have to disagree with ye on this one. So lets come into the 21st. century. For home plumbing activities pvc has to be the best. Its easier to use, more cost effective especially when the joining fittings are included and its durability I think is now proven. Modern day chemicals have a very corrosive effect on cooper and can lead to seepage's and leaks and I have yet to see Pvc become 'brittle and break down. Think of your sewer pipes and drainage pipes used in the exterior...... Do you see these become brittle and break down. Make use of modern technology & make life easier, use pvc.

Copper pipes are better, more stable and cost more than PVC. People love PVC because it is cheaper and no soldering required. I think PVC is easier to repair if you don't know how to solder or if you don't have a soldering tool.

Copper pipes are better but expensive. PVC pipes are economical and durable.

Copper pipes are more safety than the PVC pipes. Copper pipe works for  long time. PVC pipe is comfortable to fixture and it is more cheap. But copper pipe are more costly then PVC. Mostly using PVC pipe because of its durable.
