Beef & bean soup
« on: April, 07, 2009, 03:53:18 PM »
I like making this beef & bean soup, as we call it. First, I boil a piece of beef (rib or pot roast kind), then add a can of beans and some ketchup. You can use almost any kinds of beans, but our favorite is Bushes with onions. Add some salt, too, and enjoy. :)

This sounds very good, would you ever use pork smoked meat and beans? This is sooooo tasty.

I have not tried it, but I'm sure it would work great! I love smokey tastes... As far as beans go, I am trying different kinds, and really, each one turns into a good new soup. :)

That sounds different.  My husband would love it as he loves beans.  It kind of reminds me of beans and weiners with beef instead of hot dogs.  Is it soup consistency or thicker?

It is regular soup consistency, kind of runny, with beans swimming in it. :) Sometimes I add potatoes to make it thicker, but not too many.

Well, since beans are pretty much the base of it, they are hard to replace - you will make a totally different soup them. :) What kind of vegetables does he like?

Wow! And the ingredients doesn't seem to be that expensive too.

Beef, we don't like it. I will try with meat and taste it. You can add pepper too to make it as spice soup.
