marinated Pork Loin
« on: May, 20, 2009, 12:56:20 PM »
I got a good deal on a 2 foot pork loin. I only paid $16 for it. I split it up between 2 pork loins and 1 package of boneless pork chops.

I took one of the loins and marinated it with Italian dressing and put it in the freezer. I took the other one and marinated it in bbq sauce and put it in the freezer. They sit in the marinate for awhile so they become juicy when you cook them.

I cook them on either a grill or in a camp fire---very, very slowly. When they are done cooking, you can flake them with a fork.

Try it. YUM!

I buy those all the time. They are great. Try rubbing one down with basil and oregano. Place it in the oven and cook slowly at 300 degrees. When done, remove the cover, turn the heat to 350 and pour in a jar of apricot preserves. This is awesome!!

Sounds yummy! How long do you marinate them for? I have placed meat in marinade and left it there overnight (in the fridge, of course). It is well soaked after that.

I have not tried marinating in Italian dressing  great idea! :)

I usually buy the pork loins that come with the seasoning already on them.

I do have one in my freezer that isn't marinated at all.   I think that when I take it out to thaw, I will try the italian dressing idea.  I use italian dressing to marinate chicken all the time and it is yum.
