Summer Salad
« on: July, 01, 2009, 03:34:36 PM »
This is something my family has been making since before I can remember, and now is something my husband loves and insists I make at least once a month.

Time to complete: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
1 container cottage cheese
1 container cool whip (we use the low sugar stuff because my hubby is diabetic)
1 box Jello (again, we use sugar free)

The key to the ingredients is this: If you use a large box of Jello, you must also use a large container of cool whip and cottage cheese... if you use a small box of jello, the other ingredients must also be in the small sized container.

Step 1: Make sure the cool whip has been thawing out in the fridge for a few hours so that it is no longer frozen.

Step 2: Mix everything together in an large bowl.  Make sure everything is mixed well.

Step 3: Refrigerate and enjoy!

Wow! Sounds delicious and very easy to make. You're family's doing this since you can remember? No wonder, just by seeing the ingredients I can tell that everyone's gonna like it. Thanks for sharing it here. I'll definitely going to try it out. Hope to hear more from you.

This is very simple and easy to prepare. I think it is sweet salad. Usually in our home we will prepare spice salads. I will try it out by this week end and make my family to enjoy .

This sounds like something that might make a great dish to pass at a family picnic.  I have never heard of mixing cottage cheese with cool whip before. I just might have to give it a try.

My fiance's family makes this too. To be honest I think it is pretty unappealing.  I don't like the thought of cottage cheese and cool whip.  They all go crazy though when it's brought out.  So it must be good.  I have not tried it yet.
What kind of jello do you like to use?
